iDeal
iDEAL is the most used payment method in the Netherlands. At least 60% of Dutch shoppers use it to pay for their online purchases. It is a reliable and easy online payment method that enjoys a lot of confidence.
iDEAL is seamlessly integrated with the online banking environments of the 10 largest Dutch consumer banks. Customers of these banks can use the online banking products to make payments. Participating banks are ABN AMRO, ASN Bank, bunq, ING, Knab, Rabobank, RegioBank, SNS Bank, Triodos Bank and Van Lanschot Bankiers.
Since its introduction in 2005, more than a billion transactions have been processed via iDEAL and more than 100,000 web shops and other organizations have already implemented it as a payment method.
Bancontact
Bancontact is a Belgian payment scheme. It is the Belgian market leader in the field of electronic payments, with more than 15 million cardholders.
Bancontacts online payment platform can be used by anyone with a payment card issued by Bancontact. More than 20 Belgian banks issue these cards, resulting in more than 15 million cardholders. Banks that issue Bancontact cards are ABK Bank, Argenta, AXA Bank, Bank J. Van Breda, Belfius, Beobank, BNP Paribas Fortis, bpost bank, CBC Banque, CPH Banque, Crelan, Deutsche Bank, Fintro, Hello Bank, ING Belgium , KBC Bank, Keytrade Bank, Nagelmackers, Record Bank and VDK Spaarbank.
During 2015, Bancontact processed more than 27 million payments, an average of 70,000 payments per day. In the same year, Bancontact came up with an app with which online payments can also be made, making payment via Bancontact even easier for consumers.
SEPA-overboeking
SEPA stands for Single Euro Payments Area. It was introduced by the European Council to simplify payment traffic in Europe. With SEPA, transfers can be made from any European payment account to any other European payment account. Payment by bank transfer is a trusted and safe way for consumers to pay for online purchases. The amount can be transferred very simply via internet banking. SEPA credit transfers are supported in 34 countries. The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany and Poland all have a high percentage of online shoppers who pay for their purchases via SEPA wire transfer.
PayPal
PayPal is the most used online wallet worldwide, with more than 184 million active users. It is available as a payment method in 202 countries and is also increasingly used in the Netherlands. Every year, more than 4 million online purchases are paid via PayPal in the Netherlands. PayPal allows customers to link their credit card information or bank account to their PayPal account, or to credit their account. When paying for a purchase, you only pay with the e-mail address and password of the PayPal account and no further personal or financial information is required, making it a very secure payment method. Payments can also be made via telephone or tablet, making it easy for customers to pay anywhere.
